Engr. Muftau Open Salawu FNSE, born on May 10, 1973, is an exceptional Civil Engineer and a Business man of years of experience in Construction, Consultancy services, Real estate, leadership development and have a significant impact on the Communities.
Early Life and Education.
Engr Muftau Open Salawu was born in Bida, Niger State, to Alhaji Hussain Olarewaju Salawu and Alhaja Salamat Olorunkemi Salawu of ile Alapa isale ora, Ogbomoso, part of Alapa Ruling house of Okin Apa.
He attended model primary school in Bida and later St. Clare Nursery and Primary school Osogbo. Attended Government College Bida, Federal Polytechnic Bida, Federal University of Technology Akure, Federal University of Technology Minna and Harvard University Boston. Open Salawu Obtained Master Degree in Engineering and worked as a consultant, facility manager and Project Manager before establishing Opinior Engineering company ltd in 2006.

Political Career and Affiliations.
Engr Muftau Open Salawu is the pioneer Chairman of Newly established Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency OYSPPMA and Executive Assistant to His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde the Executive Governor of Oyo State. Was also The Special Adviser on Works and Transport to His Excellency Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi.
In 2018 he was persuaded to step down for the then Speaker of House of Assembly in contesting for Federal House of Representative under All Progressive Congress (APC).
In 2023 He served as member of Presidential Campaign Committee of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He is Currently a member of PDP.
Personal Life.
Open Salawu is Married to Olayinka T. Salawu from Ibadan and they have Five Children. He is known for his interest in Swimming, tennis and golf. He has been involved in Various philanthropic activities and communities development.
